Bird rescue and sanctuary based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, specialising in corvids

OUR MISSION AND STORY
Founded in 2016, Russell's Rescue is a rescue dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of birds in need. Based in Cheltenham, our mission is to provide a safe haven for injured and
orphaned birds, offering them a chance to heal and thrive.
ABOUT RUSSELL'S RESCUE
On June the 6th 2015, a little black bird came into our lives and changed it forever...
Russell Crow, was the founder of Russell's Rescue alongside us, His Humans Helen and Tristan Motteram.
Found alone and scared in Cheltenham town, Helen scooped him up and took him back to hers. It soon became apparent that Russell was disabled, he had inverted feet and despite growing some amazing feathers could never fly. Soon one became three as word got around about our rescue efforts, and Russell's Rescue was born!

How can we help you

We are proud to offer the following:

-
Rescue & Rehabilitation
 -
Education and Training
 -
Sanctuary and Family

Our capacity is 35 birds and whilst we can offer sanctuary for disabled birds we have limited capacity, that's why we are happy to provide a referral system and work alongside other rescues.

Disabled birds

We believe that disabled birds can live happily in captivity, provided that all their welfare and behavioural needs are met. We work closely with local vets to assess their needs and get the best treatment.

Availability

We run our rescue, on a voluntary basis from home and also have full time jobs. We can not always pick up birds and we ask you to be patient if you can't get through to us immediately.

Thank you!

We appreciate all the support we get and love supporting and helping the local community.
